How early should I place my order, & do you deliver?




The earlier the better! We often book months in advance, and we would hate to miss the opportunity to provide a special treat for your upcoming event. We ask for at least two weeks notice for some specialty cakes. For weddings, we require a minimum of three months notice.

Orders may be picked up or delivered.  Unfortunately we cannot ship them.  We will deliver as far as a client requires. Please contact us for delivery charges.


Can I bring you a picture of a cake I like and have you replicate it?


While we respect the design time and work of our colleagues, our designs are done by our own staff.  Our goal is to create a design that fits the needs of you, our client.  With that, we will gladly use your picture as an inspiration for the basic design, but we do not copy the work of other cake artists.

How much do you charge for specialty & sculpted cakes, as well as cake toppers?



Prices vary depending on size and complexity of design. Below is an approximation of costs (our minimum order is $400.00 for 30 servings).

3-D Cakes
3-D cakes start at a base price of $12.00 per person. Additional charges may incur if support structures and/or moving parts are required. We have a $600 minimum on all 3-D sculpted cake orders

Wedding Cakes
Wedding cakes start at a base price of $7.00 per person, which includes a standard fondant finish and appropriate borders. Final price depends on complexity of design & flavor combinations. We have a $600 minimum on all wedding cake orders.

Custom Cakes (Birthday, Celebration & Corporate Cakes)
Custom cakes start at a base price of $7.00 per person, which includes a standard fondant finish and appropriate borders. Final price depends on complexity of design & flavor combinations. We have a $400 minimum on all custom cake orders.

Personalized Cake Toppers
Custom cake toppers start at a base price of $125.00. & Final price depends on complexity of design and finish (fondant/gumpaste or polymer clay). Please note we need approximately 3-4 weeks turn around time to complete. Additional shipping charges will be added to your final order.



How many flavors can I have in my tiered cake?



We include 2 flavor choices from our menu for tiered cakes sized 40 servings and above. Sculpted cakes are 1 flavor. You are welcome to order as many flavors as you like for your tiered cake, but there will be a charge of $25 for each additional flavor. Some of our flavors require more expensive ingredients and are more labor intensive.  These flavors will be $.50 per serving extra.

Can I substitute real cake tiers for Styrofoam tiers? Can I request kitchen cakes?

We want your cake to taste as good on the inside as it looks on the outside and don’t offer Styrofoam tiers in place of cake. Our cake prices are based on the designer’s labor charge in addition to the cake. Since the artwork on a Styrofoam cake is as involved as on real cake, substituting with Styrofoam will not decrease the overall price.  We offer kitchen cakes at the same per slice cost.

How many servings of cake will I need for my wedding?

Our wedding cake prices are based on a 1”x2” serving.  Most guests will typically have one slice of cake.  But, there are those who will definitely go back for another slice.  The number of servings you want will be based on whether you wish to serve more than one slice of cake per guest.



Do you offer tastings? When may I come for one?





We offer wedding tasting appointments to clients based on our availability for the requested date.  Our tastings are $45 and are for wedding cakes only.  If the order is placed within 7 days of finalized cake design, the tasting fee will be applied towards your order (final invoice)

During the tasting we will discuss the design of your cake, so please bring any photos, invitations, etc. that may be used for inspiration of your cake design.  If you have a pre-made topper, please bring that as well.  The tasting will last approximately 45 minutes to an hour and we ask that you arrive on time to ensure you are allotted your full time.  If you need to reschedule or cancel, we ask that you contact us no later than 48 hours in advance.

Tastings are usually designed for two guests.  If you intend on bringing more, please let us know and we suggest that your maximum number be four attendees.  Trust us….too many “chefs” in the kitchen can become overwhelming and make your decision much more challenging.


Do you rent cake stands for events?




Yes! We offer high quality cake stands that can handle the weight of small, and large cake designs.  Our stands rent for $40.00 for a 24 hour time period.  Clients will be required to pay the full amount of the stand cost prior to delivery.  Clients, or their party/event planners, are responsible for returning the stand in the same condition & packaging that was provided by Mimi’s Mocha Treats, LLC.  If returned in the original condition & packaging within the 24 hour timeframe, we will reimburse the client the cost of the stand, minus the $40.00 rental fee.



Is a retainer required when placing an order?



A 50% retainer is required for all orders.

What is your refund/cancellation policy?

Mocha Treats will make every attempt to contact the client to schedule a later pick up/delivery day, dependent on availability.  If a cancellation is made less than two weeks prior, the balance is due in full.  No changes can be made to invoices less than three weeks prior to delivery date (please note that changes to an order may result in change of order price).

All delivery/set up times are final as noted in your invoice. In the case of an emergency or an error in your cake delivery, please contact us immediately so we can fix the issue right away. If you are unhappy with your cake for any reason, please call us the day of your event and explain the situation. In the rare case that you are unhappy with your cake and would like a refund, you must call the day of your event so your cake can be returned to our studio. Without proof that you are indeed unhappy with the product and will not be using it for your event, we will be unable to refund any portion of your payment. This is necessary to hinder the very rare case of “If we complain, we’ll get a free cake” issue we occasionally come across. In the event of a cancellation:
All requests for cancellation must be made it writing.
If a cancellation is received, the 50% retainer will not be refunded.
If a cancellation is received less than two weeks prior to the promised pick up/delivery date, the full 50% retainer and balance are due in full.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We accept cash, money orders, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover.
